East Glacier

Today, I finally realized that Jan and I are sharing a bath that is 6 x 5 that is just barely bigger than our shower at home. It works pretty well though. Just more togetherness. We decided that we would go toward East Glacier this morning. So we looked on the map for a hike that was in the area. We found one call Mt.Henry. It was a little over 7.2 miles total. The first half climbed 2500' through a beautiful forest then zig zaged across rock fields to the summit. There was a view of 360 degrees. To the east we could see the plains and to west we saw more spectacular mountains and at their feet set a lake. After the hike we went on to East Glacier where the Northern Pacific railroad put an inn back in the thirties for visitors of the park. The inn is, what we understand, as the largest log structure in the US. The lobby had logs that were 3 1/2 to 4' in diameter and they reached at least 60' upward. If all works out one of the pictures attached will show the lobby.
