Exploring Eastern PEI

August 13

Our trip today began with first a visit to the medical clinic.  Before we left Jan had a mishap with her new bike.  Getting off of it she hung her leg on the chain ring.  It did not appear to be a big deal but over the last 3 weeks it got infected.  The Doc prescribed an antibiotic.  Fingers crossed because if more is to be done we are coming back to the states for any additional treatment.  Since we were headed east for the Doc, we decided to make this day an eastern PEI day.

The road we took hugged the coast
and gave us the opportunity to visit several of the lighthouses.  On the way, we still stayed in awe of the countryside.  The houses on the eastern end are a little different from those we saw yesterday.  They seem to have more gingerbread on the trim.

There are no ranch houses here most all go up with steep roofs.  I don’t understand why we don’t see any brick homes, since these painted homes require a lot of maintaining.
Something that really gets my attention is that the fields go all the way to the bluff on the ocean.

Please forgive that I can’t do a better job describing what we saw.  Since “a picture is worth 1000 words”, here are a few essays.
