Bangor
This morning
we headed up to Bangor for church. This
church family was small but enthusiastic.
We met a couple there that enjoyed walking and they told us of “Bangor
Forest”. This community park had many
trails within it. We chose the outer
perimeter trail of 4 miles. Very nice! It gave us the experience of walking
through one of Maine’s many forest’s.
The air was like a fall day with a nice breeze blowing throughout most
of the walk.
After the
walk Jan wanted to go by Steven King’s home in downtown Bangor. Knowing what little I do about him, his home
fit his books. The home was an old
Victorian home with an iron fence surrounding it. On the gate were bats, gargoyles and spiders,
which was what I would have expected.
On the way
back to our “home” we stopped at a dock restaurant for our big meal for the
day. We had passed several really nice
looking places but we were intent on going to another. When we made the turn off the highway, there
was a sign, hand painted on cardboard, that it was closed on Sundays. We went to the dock across the bay from our
primary choice. BAD choice. Food wasn’t anything like the other places we
have chosen before.
The only
picture from today is one from Bass Harbor Light House.
