HELLO Glacier

After starting with a 50 mile trip out of the way, we saw the mountains of Glacier 50 miles before we got there. Then about 10 miles out we dropped from 4200 feet to 3400 into a beautiful valley that edged up to the mountains of Glacier. If were to say WOW I could not emphasize it enough using any type of typing gesture. We are dry camping tonight since we showed up one day early. This area is loaded with visitors. After check-in we asked what area we could visit this afternoon. They sent us to Many Glacier Hotel and the lakes around it. Here is that WOW again. Just before we got there, we came upon a "bear jam". Below the road and working its way through the brush and river was a bear and 2 cubs. "They said" that they were grizzly. When I viewed the pictures I believe they were black bears. Of course they were grizzly and always will be sure, it sounds good.

Tomorrow we plan to arise early and head back to the Many Glacier area and hike the Grinnell glacier trail.
