Waterton International Park

Today we crossed the border into Canada to visit Waterton. What beautiful community. Since there are two escape convicts on the loose who the police think are trying to make it to Canada, the border patrol was on edge and fully armed. When we first saw Waterton, we were 10-15 miles away. Our first sighting was of the Price of Wales Hotel. What a site. The downtown was so very low key. Bicycles were everywhere as were outdoor cafes. We went up to Red Rock Canyon on a shuttle from Waterton. The shuttle was booked heavily to take people to the Canyon but they forgot that what goes up must come back. We had to wait over an hour for a shuttle that was to pick us up. Some others had waited nearly two hours. People were not happy waiting in the sun. When we got back into town across the parking lot behind a motel was a beautiful buck. Deer were all over the town.

I am not recovering well from our hike yesterday, so Jan is working with me to find other hikes than the ones we really want to do.
