Mitchell to Sturgis and Deadwood, SD

We decided today to stay in Mitchell for a breakfast at Perkins and to visit Cabelas. Wow, Cabelas is a great store. We were looking for bear spray for our hike in the parks later this week. Our trip only covered about 300 miles today to Sturgis to see the what "biker week" was all about. First when we arrive we went over to Deadwood, where Wild Bill met his fate. This little town was covered with tons of bikers. These bikers were fun to talk with. We met a man about 55 who had ridden from Merced,CA. He was going to go through 7 national parks before he got home. Since biker week does not begin till next week, I ask why he came a week early. He said the crowds were overwhelming on the real week and this week had enough bikers around to satisfy is need to be around them. All of them seemed to be having a good time. We saw none do anything out of line. When we went into Deadwood it was begining to get wound up for next week. Bikers were everywhere. The bars were kicking in. They were even doing dress rehersals for next week, WOW!!! The pic attached is of a small group of bikes along the street.
